Deacon Qualifications
Service in the Kingdom

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10
"For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for
many.” Mark 10:45
OUR DEACONS & Areas of Service
Our deacons serve in the capacity of helpers. The Greek word for deacon literally means "a servant". Each of our deacons serves the congregation in the capacity assigned to him. These assignments are areas in which we at the North Brandon congregation are involved in our church, community and world. Click on each program page to view news and updates. Requirements of our deacons can be viewed by clicking on the link that precedes their names. If you are interested in helping with any of these areas of service, please notify the assigned deacon.

Jay Henley
Duties
Building & Grounds Page
A necessary part of our assemblies is to perform those functions necessary
to maintain the exterior and interior of the building and grounds to make
them a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment in which to worship
and fellowship.
Education
David Seal
Duties
Education Page
Our goal is to grow deeper in faith as well as in knowledge, and one of
the best ways to accomplish that purpose is through focused study times. That
is why our Sunday morning and Wednesday night Bible classes are
so important. In our adult Bible classes, you'll find a group of individuals diligently searching God's Word for answers, sharing questions and com-ments, and building friendships. If we grow closer to God, then we will all grow closer to one another.

Finance
Robert Collier
Duties
Finance Page
Our purpose at North Brandon is to be good stewards when it comes
to individual as well as congregational finances. This area of responsibility ensures that every penny that is spent is properly allocated and accounted
for, all for the furtherance of God's kingdom locally and wherever we may have influence.
Outreach Evangelism
David Martin
Duties
Outreach Evangelism Page
A key tool in fulfilling Jesus' commandment to preach the gospel
to
everyone (Matthew 28:19-20), our outreach evangelism work
encourages our local members to teach others. We also support
local, national and foreign missions and evangelistic efforts.
Visitation/Care Groups
Toby Cook
Duties
Visitation/Care Groups Page
To provide encouragement and support to members, members' families
and friends in times of bereavement, turmoil, or illness through visits,
phone calls and cards; build closer bonds within the congregation by monthly fellowship in small group settings; and provide members the opportunity to reach out and encourage recent visitors by personal contact.
Worship
Larry Norton
Duties
Worship Page
When we gather together to worship our Father God, it is important that the services are handled orderly and with reverance. One of the ways in which we ensure this is to assign various duties of worship prior to the service. Song leaders, those who serve on the Lord's table and other duties are filled. Our worship page details the assignments for each worship service.

Youth
Chris Wallace
Duties
Youth Page
We realize that teaching our youth to follow Christ at an early age is
fundamental for a faithful life. The youth at North Brandon are involved
in
monthly activities designed to equip them for service in God's kingdom
as well as growing their friendships with one another. There are quarterly area-wide youth activities with other local congregational youth groups
that provide an opportunity for growth and fellowship. Our young men
are encouraged to take an active role in our worship services and
assemblies. G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised in the Scriptures) provides
oppor-tunities for our young women to be all that they can be in God's kingdom. Our annual Vacation Bible School is a time for all ages to
engage
in fun
and fellowship, together renewed in the fact that it is
truly a
blessing
to be called children of God.
